[PSP] Can you download games for it?

Friend of mine has a new PSP and asked if you could download games for it.

I don't know anything about PSP's. Anyone got one, or know anything about them?

A new PSP? Only legit games. If he's asking if he can hack it to run homebrew and such, no.

I had a PSP I purchased 3 years ago that I managed to hack. I was running a custom firmware that enabled me to play ISOs of downloaded games.

Your first step is to identify which version of PSP you own and then go from there to determine if that version is even hackable.

It will take a lot of research, and you might even find a good tutorial on how to do it for your specific model on youtube.

I didn't need to when I hacked mine, but I think nowdays they hack the PSP using something called a "pandora battery".

Try not to turn it into a brick.

Pandora battery was pretty easy on my old one (God of War edition).

Involves breaking the battery open and cutting a lead. Puts the PSP into a state where it will accept firmware flashes from the mem card

Afterwards, just fill in the gap in the battery lead with graphite (any pencil) and tape it up.
