[NHL] 1st Rnd Playoff Predictions

prepare to be shocked then. They don't have the toughness or grit to win the cup this year.

Todd Bertuzzi + Kyle Calder give the Wings the toughness and grit they lacked last year, not to mention they roll 4 lines with a scorer on each. Can't match up against them all.

They are also really old in net and on D.

Anyway, I got a team that can roll 4 scoring lines with ya! :sunny:

Buffalo and the sens can dish out more offense

Buffalo has substantially better scoring and ottawa is a bit tougher a team IMO

If by really old you mean Chelios (oldest player in the league, quality penalty killer and adapted well to new NHL) and soon-to-be Norris-winning Lidstrom (late 30s, best defenseman in the league), you've got a point. Oh, they also let in the least shots allowed per game in the league and second-least goals allowed per game.

Oh, and 42-year old Hasek has 8 shutouts and the 2nd best GAA in the league.

But then again you knew stats didn't matter when the playoffs roll, didn't you?

Wings in 5
Ducks in 5
Canucks in 7
Predators in 5
Sabres in 4
Lightning in 7 (as a Bolts fan) as a realist Devils in 6
Rangers in 6
Senators in 6

Red Wings wont make it to the finals, they dont have the toughness and will probably duck out in round 2.

Hasek is still a very solid goaltender, as shown by his stats. People can knock his style and age all they want but he is just that good.

Also, the Red Wings have Stanley Cup winners in both of their goalies which can't hurt in the playoffs ;) I see the Wings going deep in the west.

... did you see the wings going deep last year?

Emphasis on last year. If you want to bring up the past, thats cool. This is the 2007 NHL Playoffs, just to remind you.
