The NFL announced Tuesday its 17-week, 256-game regular-season schedule for 2008, which kicks off on Thursday night, Sept. 4 and concludes on Sunday, Dec. 28.

The season begins with the NFL's annual Thursday primetime kickoff game. This year the opener on Sept. 4 on NBC (7 p.m. ET) features the Super Bowl XLII champion New York Giants at home against the NFC East Division-rival Washington Redskins.

Super Bowl XLIII -- concluding the season-long theme of "Believe In Now" -- will be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on February 1, 2009.

How the fuck do the Pats get the easiest schedule? Check the fucking tapes...

I know they play in a bad division, but my god...

pats are playing the chargers and 49ers consecutively

hopefully they can stay out west for that trip

colts in november of course

the nfl schedule works on a rotating basis to have every team play every other team in a 4(?) year cycle

this leads to divisional teams having many of the same opponents.

it's pretty simple.

from memory i think it works out like this:

6 games vs. the rest of your division
4 games. vs. a non-conference division
4 games vs. a conference division
1 game each vs. the two teams that finished in the same spot as you did in your division the previous year, that are not in the division you already have on the schedule
