new comp problems

just built a new comp. but it won't POST. i turn it on and all the fans are working but no bios. turn it off, open it to look around, turn on again and this time CPU fan isn't working ( but it was before). what could cause these things?

check the power cable.

Yeah, you have to check all the cables to make sure pins didn't get pushed back in the connectors.

i was pretty sure all the connections were fine. i was running the PS at 115 through a transformer.

Does it have a green dot? If not, it may not be communicating properly.

try a different PSU

Try it without your surge protector. I had the exact same problem when my Surge was going bad. My computer would start up but but it wasn't getting enough power to run the processor. Just power the fans.

unplug everything but the video card and see if you can get it to post

Do what Maven said. Make sure you did not put screws through the 4 heatsink holes around the cpu to attach the motherboard to the case.
