So I've gotten bigger fans, gone with water cooling, and there's this one mother of a fan on my mobo that's loud as ass. From my mobo's book, it seems to be cooling the system controller. I tried vacuuming the thing out and using compressed air to get it as dust free as I could, and the fucker is still screeching away (relatively, anyway).
Is the system controller something that even needs a fan, or could a heat sink do just as well? It's screwed onto the mobo, and has a standard 3(?) pin connector to the board, if that helps any.
Suggestions?
