must have games for the 360

just picked up the console for the first time. what games should I buy? Im interested more in the single-player experience as i wont have internet for a few weeks

If you were into the single-player experience you should have bought a PS3, but maybe you already have one. While 360 has some good games, they tend to be really shooter heavy, so I hope you're ok with playing mainly shooters, if not, I'd take it back right now and get a PS3.

I guess I would look into picking up gears of war 1 and 2 and maybe fable 2.

For multiplatform titles you could pick up Red Dead Redemption or Super Street Fighter 4.


360 has like nothing coming out for it this year.. save multiplatform and below.

red dead redemption is great, but i would do this last as you can get all of the above used and on the cheap

bioshock 1 and 2 if you've never played them
assassins creed 1 and 2 are both great
fable 1 and 2 can keep you busy and are both cheap

fallout 3: goty edition
red dead redemption
call of duty 4 1/2

Surprise. MTG:Duels Of The Planeswalkers was released June 15th on Steam. It's a port of the 360 game, and only costs $10.

No plans at this time. Maybe in the future, but nothing announced yet.

You can turn the *aim assist* (not auto-aim) off. Also in MP there's "hardcore" options that have enforced stealth rules on blips and no aim assist.
 
So, single player, fun, and not on XBLA:

Forza 3
Burnout: Paradise
Red Dead Redemption
Fallout 3 and Oblivion (both way better on the PC thanks to modding, but if it's all you've got...)
The Halos (3, ODST, maybe 2 and 1; all are readily available used)
The Gears (I wouldn't pay full price for these, but they're not horrible)

Mass Effects 1 and 2
Splinter Cell: Double Agent (~$5, but not everyone likes it)
