What's really amazing is how there aren't more Alan Smithee films. Though I guess in an industry like Hollywood it's better to have your name attached to shit than not attached to anything.

the rules behind it were really stringent and required the producers/studios to put their hands up and admit that they'd taken control from the director

basically it had to be an utter clusterfuck

I think it would be interesting to watch the process from start to finish. Just by watching the credits of any given movie there appear to be many moving parts to the production of a film

Uighur cotton is the softest and most breathable though. It's like a meadow breeze dancing across my skin.

"Burn Hollywood Burn" broke the Alan/Allen Smithee alias, because up until that movie, it was only something known to people within Hollywood and the industry in general. Once "Burn Hollywood Burn" came out, it entered the public conscious and it was no longer useful for what it was created for (to hide the removal of the directors credit from the film).

Bold of them to think that it ever entered the public consciousness or that anyone remembers Burn Hollywood Burn.

why would anyone really care though?

well yeah it's not like making a porno ;o

it's actually a pretty interesting dichotomy in that a director has to be an auteur with a singular drive and vision but also has to work w/ literally hundreds of fucking people

drives a lot of em mad
