Looking for a video converter - simple user interface for conversion for iPod/iPad

Google sucks for this type of recommendation - get a lot of crap-ware. Don't care if it is free or $50 or whatever. Just need it to be very simple - like setup initially and then single button operation from there. It's for getting video files onto an iPad, but since it's important to keep sync times down, I would just assume convert/scale it for an iPod and then have the iPad scale it up.

Needs to be able to convert the video file to a folder locally, and not directly to the device, as files produced will just be tossed onto an FTP server.

Doesn't actually have to be iPod/iPad specific software, but does need to be dead simple and convert to MPEG4.
