Lcd TV Advice

So I want to get a new lcd tv and my sister knows some girl that's selling one. She said it's a 42" lcd tv with clear scan 240. I don't have a picture of it yet and she is selling it for 800. Not sure what the background of the tv is but i could use some advice.

That's not what Best Buy is telling me after a cursory 2 minute look.

Give her $500 and not a penny more you moron. Do your own fucking research on what you should pay. $800 is too much though. If you buy that TV for $800 it will be obvious you are only trying to fuck the chick.
 
OP is a moron for knowing the model and even finding a link to the product in question but hasn't provided either. What a dumbass.

I have a Samsung LN40A550 and I fucking love it. It's < $900 now. Not their latest generation but it looks fantastic.
 
There was a 42" going for $500 during black friday so I'm sure you could find sub $500 in that size range on ebay or craigslist if you're looking to buy used.
 
i bought a brand new 42" 720p olevia for $400

there are regular sales for sharp/samsung/vizio for 500-600 on 42'

in fact im 80% sure costco has a deal on a 500 40" vizio right now
