Laptop viewable area off after LCD replacement

I recently replaced the LCD screen on a Sony Vaio and the viewable area is off. I can bearly see the taskbar. I have reinstalled monitor and graphic drivers, changed resolution. Searched all over google, no luck.

Anyone have any experience with this?

sounds like you used the wrong part, or the part is defective. I have never seen this happen with an identical part replacement, but have seen it with 3rd party "compatible" parts (aka "it's the right size, joebob! It'll work!")

You must be right Vlasic. The LCD screens were identical in every way too. I just ended up pulling the task bar up. Its a few pixels off but it will work.

What model Vaio? What video chipset is it running? Software to adjust screen position may be available.

I know this is a delayed response, but I hardly ever look in this subforum.
