It would really mean alot to me if you came to church with us

and christmas is the one time the sermons don't involve hating yourself

My mom said that if I don't go to church, she's not going to celebrate Christmas tomorrow.

I havent been to a christmas sermon since I was 12 or 13 I think. Hang out with more atheist people :shrug: Though there are some fucking smoking church babes that you could meet at that sermon.
 
These are neighbors, not family. You are not obligated to them.

Unless you have a clear opinion that Church isn't for you, go ahead and go. They aren't trying to convert you. You'll sing some hymns and hear the story of Jesus. Big deal. Entertainment on the cheap. Go for it.
 
If they were inviting you to dinner because they like you and want to spend time with you - they should be perfectly fine with you showing up for dinner and not bullshit mass.

Otherwise they had a different agenda in mind.
