iPod Gen 5 Question

30gb

9gb music, all other apps are pre-installed.

Open iTunes, 2gb "Other"?!

Searching google showed most at <300mb.

Anything I should be looking for?

I did delete the itunes backup on the ipod @ a gig, others still shows the same space used.
 
Azn; I did, and the only large file found was the iTunes backup. The music as listed in iTunes is 9gb and 11gb in Windows, though I found no extraneous reason for this.

No dupes, large or unplayable files.

EDIT; Windows sees it as 27gb. Does the Apple software really take up 2gb?!

As others have said, "Other" is everything else, from games, contacts, album art, notes, file system and data or files if you use your iPod as a disk drive.

Backup your stuff and format it I guess.

I've seen some people with 11 GB in "Other".
 
I realize that, but in his comment he was referring to the total size of the disc in Windows. As you can see in your picture, the capacity is 27.87 GB.
 
ya i don't know what that shit is either, probably spyware on your pod tracking where you are in the world and making sure you live the mac life or the apple gestapo will come and castrate you.
 
its normal. I have 290mb of 'other'

everything has album art though

Do you think they include podcasts with 'other' too?
