Every DVD I'm burning of win7 ends up corrupting and I have no other available means of external storage other than an external HDD. My question is: if I can shrink the C: drive using disk management to free up enough space to install win7 using daemon tools, can I make it my primary boot and then format where the old install was from within the new boot and append that space onto the new partition I created?

Yes I explained that like a bag of dicks but I'm tired...

you can get an 8gb usb stick for like $10-15 and use that to install windows and save yourself a lot of trouble

What???

1) Back up your important files to an external drive
2) Format c:
3) Install Win 7
4) Copy files back
5) Download more pron
