anyone know the numbers for record industry profits in the mid 90s and now? I can't seem to find it, but I have no business background. I'm curious to see how much these companies have "lost" since p2p sharing gained popularity.
I'm just wondering because the cost of recording is down (for the corporations), the cost of album production (i.e. actually burning/packaging the album they charge the artists more for studio time, cd costs are up, etc. are they really losing money due to file sharing?
With iTunes and other ways of distributing their music without paying the packaging/shipping costs, rest assured they're all making cash hand over fist once again.
