Help me buy a new comp TW

So i have recently run in to a bit of money and have around 500-1000 to spend on a computer. The comp doesn't have to be a powerhouse, but able to play recent games.

I know i have seen a few wicked deals floating around here from time to time that are around 5-600.

Anyone have any suggestions?
 
Get yourself a cheap core2quad plus motherboard that supports it. ($250-$300 total)
Get a cheap WD 500+gig hard drive with 32mb cache ($60 to $100)
You can get 4 gigs of OCZ RAM for cheap after rebate ($30 to $60)
A decent Case + PSU ($100)
As for a video card, you can get a decent Nvidia 9800 XXX ($100ish)

There is your case that will play the latest in games at more than good settings with great frame rates for $600 ish.

As for monitors, there is great thread dealing with that as we speak. Run win7 RC for now.
