[Headphones] TW I need you!

I am also in the market for some headphones. I need decent headphones that are cheap. I live in a fraternity house and have 3 roommates. Sometimes I just want to be able to enjoy my music without having to listen to their music/tv/people talking. A buddy recommended Sennheiser HD-497. The price is right and reviews are looking pretty good.
What do you guys think?

the hd580/600 are comfy but real laid back and smooth, so if u listen to tons of rock you might not love it
im getting the grado ms1 soon , i'll report back
hd497 sounds good, but does give earaches after 1-2hours

Transistors are the device interchangeable with vacuum tubes.

Transistors can be made in incredibly small sizes, but they're not as good as tubes for switching organic information like music.

I'm no expert, but I have to question this logic when the music source is digital. With an analog source I can see that.

I don't get it. What's the big deal with sleeping while listening to music? It would just keep me up. The only time I've ever slept while listening to headphones was to try this lucid dreaming thing.
