So I live New Zealand (lol, hobbits!) and being everything the way it is, we pay a ridiculous amount for electronic goods unless it's stuff that actually gets brought in in reasonable quantities. Even then, we still get fucked. Don't even try and buy an iPhone here.

I've pretty much decided I want some Grado SR 80i's, but over here they seem to cost literally 2-3x what you can get them for overseas. However, a classmate is Canadian (eh) and is heading back to Canada for a brief trip in a month, and has kindly offered to let me ship my Grado's to her place and she'll bring them back for me.

[so]

Any recommendations for a website where I can purchase some Grado SR 80i's which: a) is cheap b) ships to Canada and c) isn't going to screw me over.

:sunny:

Try fushandchups.com.au or maybe velcrogloves.com.de.

Did you play tribes? NZ had a great tribes team back in the days of yesteryear.

Is this a crap price? AU $154.95 +AU $14.95 delivery

I'm not certain about NZ customs, but if they work like everywhere else in the world you are going to end up paying a shit-tonne whe you try and cross the border with a crapload of random electronics.

New Zealand dollar is even weaker against the Australian dollar than the US dollar, so buying from Australia is pretty bad. Amazon.com have them for US$99 - but strangely won't ship to Canada. Amazon Canada have them for... significantly more.

You'll suffer in the dollar exchange, but it might be worth keeping headphones.com.au in mind. They have free Aus/NZ shipping, a great range, and their forums are both responsive and helpful. They don't stock Grados but they do stock Alessandros. Alessandros, as I understand it, are produced by Grado and are not just rebadged SR*s. I'm not positive about this, but I think the MS1 is comparable to the SR80/125; the MS2 to the SR325. Finally, just repeating what I have read elsewhere, the Alessandros have been described as more neutral with a wider soundstage than the Grados.
