[[HALP]] Multiple Webcam Streaming Website Solution

Cliffs: This project involves streaming barely clothed (fairly hot by TW standards) women from multiple angles. I will provide TW links ASAP once this project is going. Please help me get it working.

I'm working on a project that requires me to stream 15 cameras.

Current setup has 15 crappy Panasonic IP Cameras that only support MJPEG apart from some ActiveX & require me to transcode all the streams before I can insert them into a player. Tried webcamXP - Webcam and Network Camera Surveillance Software Webcam7 Pro, but that didnt work out well as I want to post them to the server from the local network and dont want direct access to the cams. Tried VLC transcoding etc but its too CPU intensive.

I need suggestions on what cameras I should purchase to solve the issue if thats whats quickest and easiest to implement.

If anyone has experience with this sorta stuff I would greatly appreciate any advice as I'm a newb to streaming related stuff.

Well I need to figure out a permanent solution to stream all the cams. I'm hosting on the amazon cloud so bandwidth etc. wont be an issue once its online. Its for a legit adult entertainment venture w/ paid membership etc down the line initially free. I just want to figure out how to go about it best and what equipment I'll need. I'm looking to integrate it into Wowza media server. Just thought I'd see if TW would have some experienced input on this stuff. I just haven't worked with streaming cams much. Thanks again

Same location $1-3k for cameras etc. Local server has 40/Mbps u/d to transfer local streams to the server.

I have some experience setting up CCTV systems, which might be what you need. The expense of a 16 channel IP camera system is fairly high, though.

You'll want:

16 Channel Geovision Net Video Recording System (About ~$1.5K and up for just the system)
16x IP Cameras (1.3 Megapixel Dome IP Cameras start around $250 each)
1x 16-port PoE Switch (~$200+)
1000ft+ Cat6e or high quality Cat5e cable

All told, you're looking at ~$6K on equipment, not counting adapters, labor, and miscellaneous other costs.

I believe there's a way to directly stream the video content from these CCTV systems without the security interface, which is what you need to look into. GLHF

i could get you a 48 port PoE Cisco 3560 switch, as well as the Cat5, im also sure i have a video recording system somewhere with about 30 channels

if you go that route let me know i got the hookup :)

Thanks I'm testing the existing setup of cams some of them have mpeg4 support & multicasting so Im playing around with that & wowza media server. I have cat5 & the switch at the moment & I'm looking into the recording system etc. I'll have some pics for ya'll in the next day :)

And I didn't read the thread.

Axis cameras are amongst the best IP cams on the market, but I think the business plan needs more work, I looked at running a streaming porn site a decade ago, your biggest issue isn't the cameras, its writing your security/payment system, if that fails than any money invested in hardware is wasted. Beyond that you need to write your own streaming server software that supports multicasting.

My plan was to have the cameras multicast to a server that had a custom portal that chose a camera from the multicast stream based on a hash value. The logged in user had a hash value and as long as the seeds of those hashes matched then it would play the video unicast to the user.

In the end my plan fell over with bandwidth costs to operate more than anything else.
