Those found to be gambling in the UAE, which is defined as a game where the participants agree to pay a sum of money or anything else of value based upon the outcome, become subject to both a fine and imprisonment, with more severe penalties handed out to those running gambling establishments, who face a sentence of up to 10 years.

The fines alone can be substantial though, which run up to 20,000 dirhmas, or about $5500 USD, although gambling in a public place is seen as more serious of a crime then just gambling in public, for instance in a home poker game.

So needless to say there are no poker rooms that you can go to that are licensed, although there is some underground poker that goes on here, as evidenced by a recent bust of an underground poker operation, where 16 people were jailed.

12 of the players were jailed for three months for playing poker, while 4 of them were found to have downloaded software to play online poker, and they received a total of 12 months in jail for this crime.

Mitch what's your 5-7 handed tourney strat.

Found myself in it several times late in a 22 dollar tourney aka avg skill level. This is one of the spots I don't have expertise in as I don't play 6 max cash online as I really only use online for tourneys.

Or lgbr or anyone else. Finished with a smooth 81ish but bled off a lot of chips when I was in that spot as tables were waiting to merge. Always had decent hands in position but never true premiums. Lot of q10s type hands fold to me on button with 10 on flop and an ace on turn type scenarios vs big blinds. Do I need to close my eyes and call river all ins 2nd pair or some shit via assuming they're exploiting me due to ICM pressure?

I'm generally raising a lot here in MP. Like any suited paint, any pair. I'm raising QT suited all day. Obviously doesn't always work out but it's pretty disguised so when it does work, chiptastic.

Yeah I have no prob raising it by when a board like 5 6 10 A 7 comes down I have not a fucking on the river where I'm at after firing 2 streets to then be lead into.

Aka I need more experience to get an idea who donk bets and with what on the river with that kind of run out. I don't mind calling raising light 4 or 9 handed but 6 is like the right amount I don't know what I should do or others are doing.

Massive chip lead in the Partypoker 109. Like 1st of 133 with80 getting paid. 150BB plus. Fucking yeah baby.

1 thing I gotta keep in mind - even when I'm posting here - is that I'm playing a fundamentally different kind of poker. Most guys here only found out about poker within the last 5 years so you've got a lot of nerdy virgin types who have read every book on poker and know the exact percentages for every hand but have never actually been to a casino and played. They're extremely predictable. What's funny is that none of them understand pot-odds and will never count the pot to determine their next bet - they only bet off looking at the blinds. I know one guy that will never fold - ever - if he's chasing a flush. You can literally put him all in and he'll call it but he'll never raise post-flop until he's got it. Another dude goes all-in preflop with rockets every. single. time. Never tries to milk it, ever even wants to see the flop. He's happy just taking the blinds and calling it a hand.

Q10 is an easy call and I'm comfortable with calling any raises depending on my chipstack. Q10 offsuit with 8 players starts you at 15% to win. 4 folds brings you to 30%. Heads up brings you to 56% pre-flop. It's definitely worth seeing.

I chopped a shitty 75 dollar donkament after deciding to say fuck work after a weekend of doing my own hr shit.

Nothing really crazy there were 3 hands in short succession p funny. I had k7o on button. BB is like 5bb deep and antes in play so I shove. He call has qq he wins. I lose most my stack in cooler situation next hand vs someone else. Then I get dealt kk shove he calls off with aqo off and dude with 10s call. I win. Aq guy accused ne of giving him a speech, i said about 1 sentence saying it was like the previous hand we played just opposite seats. he was mad as this was the bubble idk 5th was only 300 anyways not a big deal. He has like 1.5 bb left. He shoves I get jj I call one player flop a set. Make a tiny more of other guy. Other guy proudly announces aa (what a fucking run of hands) to which I reply "want me to give a speach" and yah my top full house good.

I don't get angry poker players they make game miserable and no fun. Bubbling sucks but I only saw one short stack pushing k4 type hands as the table got smaller. Unsurpsingly he finished 4th cause he had the heart.

Forgot how easy live daily tourneys are I don't play them much. 3/6 itm placement atm at my local casino nice change of pace from my sun/Monday cash games.

I get what you mean about the angry players - for me the problem is that it's usually me.

On Sunday I had a chip slide out of my fingers and onto my bet while I was betting and had this one four-eyed faggot virgin kid screaming that I was dropdown string betting. I told him I dropped the chip as an accident and I was pulling it back anyways. He kept trying to tell the dealer I had to fold the hand and lose my bet because I was string betting. I had already verbally committed my bet but the little faggot decided to claim I wasn't speaking Japanese even though the dealer had clearly heard it. I was pissed from getting shit hands all day and then getting bitched at the moment I try to play a hand so I asked him if he was going to teach me how to bet. He made some snide comment about how foreigners don't know how to play poker (LOL) so I told him after the game I'd meet him outside and teach him how to get his fucking face broken.

That got me disqualified from the hand.

anyone who tries to force a(probably) nonangling player to commit to action is a dipshit. Literally no value in it long term. Had a dude try to shove a stack he didn't have when it the hand was dealt (we don't allow runners due to scammers) and got angry at me and the casino when this dude was a known reg.

It really just says a lot about who you are, like when grandpa Jones accidentally has a big chip stick to some smaller let him yank it back you know he's only calling to see the flop you'll get that extra 100 another flop against him calm tf down.

Lol @ threatening to beat little jap dude tho. Which makes me wonder where tf are the Japanese poker players? Plenty of Chinese and based on last name alone I know of more vietnamese. What gives?

Japanese players aren't good pros because they're too predictable and it's painfully obvious when they're bluffing. They're also shit at English.

Had I been up I probably would have just shrugged it off but I was feeling salty and the kid had a history of being a little faggot.

edit: Also as I said earlier, Japan like JUST got poker a few years ago. Most people here think stud when you say poker. No clue how to play and have never heard of Hold em.

So i'm playing the $215 on Party Poker and my mother calls. Rattles on endlessly for 45 minutes as mothers do. My contribution to the conversation is Yes mom. No mom. Etc.

Call ends and I realise I have 170k in chips and absolutely no idea how that happened.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

When it folds to the SB and you have 45 off in the BB and he flats and you call and the flop comes 236 rainbow. And he fires 3 bullets with some shit like QJ. Fucking Hi thanks for playing.

How did you go in the Satty LGBR?

Bad. Our spot had 29 buy ins and I finished tied in 12th.

Oh well. The October monthly final is this weekend. Usually has anywhere from 30 to 45 buy-ins. Chips are dependent on how much/how well you've played in all of the daily tournaments since the last monthly final so I'm like 3rd or 4th place in chips for this one. I won last month's final as well so I'm defending my title.
