XvT was really disappointing because it came out before broadband or even the internet was really taking off. Plus the scale of the game was such that the singleplayer campaign (so to speak) really needed 2-4 people to really succeed at.

hence why XVA was awesome?

and that allegiance movie didnt look very fun at all
 
From the makers of the X-Wing series perspective, you won't see another title from them licensed by Luca$Arts. Lawrence Holland, the creator of the entire X-Wing series announced quite some time ago that Luca$Arts pulled the plug on 'em which is why you never saw X-Wing Alliance completed. There was supposed to be one more patch and an eventual add-on game. I think it'd be great if Totally Games would be allowed to revamp it 'cuz I loved the X-Wing series and still play Alliance from time to time.
