OBAMA ADMIN HEADS UP

NRA-ILA | Vol. 19, No. 47 11/30/2012

Just over two weeks ago, the U.S. Senate voted 84-12 to advance S. 3525, "The Sportsmen's Act of 2012." However, this week, by a 50-41 vote, the bill suffered a setback when the Senate failed to clear a procedural hurdle and move on to finish work on the bill. There is still time to get this critically important legislation passed, but you must act now!

S. 3525 is an essential piece of legislation focused on the expansion and enhancement of hunting, recreational fishing and shooting on federal public land. But it's more than that.

Of critical importance is the fact that, in addition to promoting land access, S. 3525 would amend the "Toxic Substances Control Act" to prevent this and future administrations from using the Environmental Protection Agency to eliminate the right of hunters, shooters and anglers to use traditional ammunition and fishing tackle. The bill would amend the law to clarify that the EPA does not have the authority to regulate shot, bullets or sport fishing equipment.

The bill also allows for the importation of polar bears legally taken from approved populations in Canada before the 2008 ban.

S. 3525 could come up for a vote at any time, so please act now to secure support for this critically important bill that would prevent the EPA from regulating your ammunition! Please contact your U.S. Senators TODAY and ask them to support S. 3525.

lead is bad, why should hunters be allowed to pollute our soil? what makes them so special? do they make environmentally friendly ammo yet?

Well if it comes from earth then it must be good. I shall commence on my new cereal Sugar coated Lead scraps with marshmellows!

Zool's survivalist schtick is kinda strange. I mean I get that there are nutjobs like this in the US, but I thought they all avoided the internet because the government uses it to monitor them and shit.

pats are playing, not in the mood to keep up the trolling. i actually have no opinion on lead bullets. i do not hunt, i have not read any studies on effects of lead ammo on enviroment, so in reality, i got nothing.

plus, i do not really care

just google some insane conspiracy theory and put forums after it. You will never have to find entertainment elsewhere.

This is why the US needs a PBS, if medication was affordable, most of these nutjobs could be effectively medicated and many social problems would disappear overnight.

i'd be willing to bet that pollution from lead wheel weights is a far, far bigger problem than lead from ammunition.

^this... bullets costs around +$10.00 for a 20 pack (not .22)... far more lead waste then bullets out there for example fishing weights $5.46 for a 248 pack...

you decide which is more likely to end up in your water a bullet or fishing weights.
