Look at Vietnam once America lost the war and left. Stalinist economic policies destroyed the quality of life for all Vietnamese as well as put people into "re-education camps" (prison).
If socialism was so damn good, then why did over a million+ 'boat people' (where several hundred of thousands died in transit) flee the Vietnamese Socialist Workers Paradise?
But hey, today's socialists / communists will do it better this time. Just give them a chance to prove it. Never mind history and showing it has been an abject failure every damn time it's been implemented. They're [self professed] smarter and they will get it right... this time.
