No, I don't want your opinion, since we've done that topic about 100 times already in the last year.


Currently I have a 350D with the kit lens because it's cheap and I'm poor. Some wide-open f3.5 shots:

Then what drives the price up to $800? I was shopping around a while back, but didn't look into the specifics of the kits.

As I recall, the camera alone is around $550. The kits I saw were all $800.
 
I think that after a $100 rebate, the kit cost $700 total. Even at that price, this isn't the kind of purchase I make regularly.

I've been very pleased with this camera so far, and would highly recommend it in place of the pro models for any serious hobbiests who can't drop multiple thousands for the 5/10/20/30D series.
