CoD World at War question (laptop)

I just bought this, and its choppy as hell. I turned the graphics down too. Im running Vista, Geforce 8800M, AMD 2.0Ghz dual, 3GB Ram on a laptop. There were options for graphics like bilinear and trilinear or automatic, i didnt know what those meant. My ping wasnt so bad, it was in the 100s. Anyone got some tips? Thanks in advance.
 
Yea, i thought about that.. what also seemed to help was turning the resolution down too, i was running 1366 i went down to 966 and it helpped a lot too.
 
Yeah that's about all you can do. Sadly most LCDs look like shit when you run a different rez then native :(

i used to play cod4 on my laptop. to run at a good framerate (30+), i had the graphics at med-high and the res at 640x480.
