Clicking with my mousewheel opens links in a new tab.

on my laptop, tapping the pad with 2 fingers does the same thing.

it's been there for freaking ever.

in firefox, hover the mouse pointer over the search bar, hold ctrl, and scroll the mouse wheel. this changes the search engine

[edit: actually, it's probably easier to just use the menu :sunny:]

Middle-clicking the tab bar re-opens previously closed tabs on my Firefox.

apple shift click opens a new tab in background
apple click opens new tab in foreground

middle button opens new tab in background
right-click OPENS A MENU FOR OTHER THINGS (LOL 2 bUTTONS)

for chrome and firefox, ctrl + t opens a new tab. (everyone knows this)

but with chrome (not sure about firefox) ctrl + shift + t opens recently closed tabs and can open multiple tabs you have closed the more times you do it. Very helpful.
