Anyone have any experiences with either of these cameras? I was really looking hard at the G7 and went into a local shop to see how it felt in hand when the guy informed by of the P5000 that I must have overlooked when initially researching.
The size difference between the two cameras doesn't bother me too much, though I must say I do prefer the Nikon because it has better grip support. Feature wise both cameras seem fairly identical, except the Canon supports a longer zoom range. This seems like the biggest difference. Both cameras do not support RAW, which is kind of disappointing. Every other feature seems to be the same across the board unless I'm forgetting something...
My biggest concern is image quality at the various ISO settings. And I haven't seen or heard any comparisons in this regard.
I would have to say at this point I'm leaning towards the G7 but the price is making me seriously consider the P5000. I am also willing to consider other cameras, so feel free to comment!
