blackberry or treo?

Before the holidays probably. If you need one sooner rather than later, get a BB. You can put programs on it, although it's not great program wise. A huge reason the treos crash is because they are underpowered because palm is a cheap company, but the advent of sexier phones has forced them to make the next treos pretty damn beefy, so crashing shouldnt be an issue unless its huge.

I have a treo 700 and with loaded programs, I have to reset it multiple times daily. It only has 32 megs of ram, so it runs ok if I ran it default, but where is the fun in that? You get to the point where you figure out what combination of programs works well, and you figure out how to work around that. The bb is nice because it works and its simple, but it limits you a lot more in terms of what you can do; of course it's gonna run 'better' when there is less you can do.

Try em out. I can honestly see someone switching back and forth each generation/end of contract.
 
I've had 3 treos .. the current one i'[m using is a treo 700w .. windows OS.. I fucking hate the thing .. as mentioned it crashes all the time, doesnt pick up phone calls sometimes.

My work got me a blackberry and i love everything about it.
 
Are you going with Sprint? I just got a 6800 aka Mogul. I really like it so far. It's much better than my old 6700.
 
Dont get the BB Pearl. Its a POS and the mousewheel has stopped functioning on three different handsets now.

I regret not getting one of the full BB's now.
 
i like the blackberry because its small and still very functional. I will admit its probably faster do to a lot of things with the touch screen, i just couldnt imagine carrying a treo all day
 
Resetting just becomes second nature I guess. If I am browsing this site on opera while listening to music, I have a pretty good chance of crashing (or things going so slowly you might as well reset rather than wait) if I get a phone call and have a large mp3 set as a ringtone, for instance. I'll reset the phone, pocket it, then go back to whatever I should have been doing while on the phone ;)

Which is why I desperately want a new phone myself. It's a fun toy though.

I agree with Jaydn. All the people I work with have blackberrys except one of the execs who has a Treo and never uses it because it's just awkward. You'd get a Treo for the stuff Mr Chen said, but then if you want all that, why not get an iPhone?
 
I have the treo 700p right now and I'm looking at BB's to change to. The Treo 700p is the most infuriating piece of shit phone ever. Do not get it.
 
i have sprint and was contemplating getting one of these phones.
i think i may hold off until the hardware gets much better


i just wish the phone i currently have, had a scheduler let me put in more than 18 characters per entry and didnt require me to have an alarm set to each thing

having unlimited web and text for $30 a month isnt bad though, majority of use being reading CNN and googlemaps. i should set up a website to parse text from pages for me to read more news on the go.

To sum it up:
Blackberry has better push technology, Treo can natively handle MS office docs. Everything else is very similar
 
PS, treo's battery life is horrible. i have to charge it EVERY day even through mild usage. talking to people with both, ive heard a lot of hate on the treo vs. blackberry users LOVE their blackberries. go bb unless u like to watch porn videos on the go.
