azureus was too much of a resource hog for me too... and hung a few times (yes i only have a 'stupid' 512 megs of ram)

now i use ABC 3.0.1, works great...

Bit Tornado. Azureus always fucks my resources, whether it has torrents running or not.

Azureus takes resources yes, but its the best BT client out there next to bittornado...of course this is my opinion.

force download works great when u get "qeued"

or then you could modify your settings to allow more than x concurrent downloads

It's not memory usage, it's CPU usage. Every other second it jumps to 99% on any of my WinXP systems (even if not downloading) which means you just can't use the PC while running it. Azureus was my fav client pre-XP but I just cant use it now...

(JRE/etc updates don't help at all either)

I'm using BitComet now though I check Azureus updates every so often.

weird, i have run it on 3 XP boxes and never had that issue.

azureus used to fuck up the connection royally a while back (after v2.1.0.4 and before 2.3xxx iirc) but never had any cpu-related probs on 3 diff XP's and now that the bandwidth-killing bugs were ironed out i <3 azu again.

Bitcomet uses 1% CPU nearly all the time, way better than az and ABC that stuck around 20% and more.
