Picked up a couple cases of this yesterday.
Very rare -- cost 79cdn each 6 pack and only at specific stores. People are selling on ebay and stuff for up to 300 bucks.
Canada got its shipment recently. I would assume the States will soon if not already.

Haven't had any yet but heard nothing but good things. Will cellar for a special occasion.

Westvleteren 12 - all about Belgian Trappist beers

The beer thread.. again.

Just an important public service announcement.
I don't think this has been available in North America.

If you look at each chalice maybe being worth 10 bucks as a souvenir, then 10 bucks for each of the 6 bottles remaining is not absurd.
Innis & Gunn is like 5-6 bucks for certain varieties.

I have had some good Trappist beer at a bar in Ottawa. I forget what the beer and bar were called but personally I think its over rated. It has the floating yeast in it still and is usually stronger than regular beer. My single beer was around 20$. Anyways, its worth trying once for the experience but that's about it.

because it's snobbery

it makes people like t-funk feel special and more important that they drinking something that most other beer drinkers never heard of

same reason why retards go to comic con dressed as the most obscure anime characters possible
