auto changing webpages?

im looking for a way to have a website ive made automaticaly create links, w/ filenames of what's in a specific directory, that automaticaly changes when those files change... also, is there a way to get and display various file information such as the date it was put there?

date? should be automatic. as for displaying the directory, you need either php or perl or some other form of script to do it. google for "php directory file listing" or something like that.
