Ok so Dayz has become pretty stale. Awaiting the standalone version we were turned on to the Wasteland mod. It's been out for some time. Turns out it's pretty damn awesome. If you have Arma2 already I highly recommend trying this mod out.

In a nutshell you:
Join a team, acquire weapons and building materials, build a base, complete side missions, kill the enemy, etc.
Or you can join the independent team, go solo and kill everyone.

We mostly play on the BMRF Whitelist servers. You will have to sign up on their forums, log in and that's it.

These servers are packed and action is plentiful. 75 player max.
If you already have Arma 2:CO or Arma 2 and Arma 2:OA you do not need to download anything, but you will have to launch Arma2:OA Vanilla to play.
We also tried out the I44 (ww2mod) version of Wasteland last night. For this you will need a download using the six updater. Very cool also and it's a nice change from all the high tech weapons.
