Is the NFL/NBA taking a hit on viewership?

I have a few hundred people in my friendslist on facebook. Probably 3/4 of them are into some sport, most of those are either NFL or Baseball. For the last few weeks its been constant posts of 'HERE COMES FOOTBALL!!!WOOOHWOOOOOOo!o!o!!o!o!o!o!o!o' stuff like that.

I just scrolled through facebook and out of probably 3 doze posts about football in my feed, like 2 were positive. The rest were mostly about players taking a knee and swearing they aren't watching these by god unpatriotic communists cause THESE COLORS DON'T RUN posts. When you know that not a single on of them ever got off their lazyboy when the anthem was played.

I personally don't give a shit. Yes, men and women have fought and died for the country, and its a sign of respect and all, but the very thing those men and women fought and died for was so that people would have the ability to voice their opinions in such ways. Seems like its more of an honor to those people if they do take a knee to me. wtf do i know.

I haven't really been into NFL for years so I really can't watch any less than i already do. :shrug:

Ratings are unquestionably down, but ratings don't take into account things like redzone, sports bars, viewing parties, etc. There's also the fact that two years ago the NFL had record breaking ratings, the implication being that pretty much everyone who would watch football already was, and that ratings had nowhere really to go but down.

I don't know that the NBA ratings were ever all that good to begin with.

just look at turner's and espn's ad revenue the past 2 quarters :lol:

even if you counted streaming media, amount paid for an internet viewer is nowhere close to someone who actually pays for cable.

The NFL has bigger problems than bending knees. CTE is draining the pool of future talent.

Concussion issue will kill it off long term

Nba ratings are actually solid remember baseball and nba have way more games overall baseball is a cash cow
 
When my tax dollars are paying for your stupid stadium and you're untaxed for god knows what reasoning, you fucking stand for the god damned anthem.
