aomori is a tiny little city and misawa is a couple hours drive away from it in the middle of rice fields w a big air force base there so it's nothing but drunk and bored airmen and really, really old people

theres absolutely nothing to do there except get drunk with the military kids and I cant imagine what he'll do for work unless some shoddy English school hires him

well having base access helps since he can get comfort food but aside from that life in misawa sucks

one of my lieutenants from when I was working with the SDF is stationed there now and it aint fun from what he says
 
Tell me if this is a regular thing over there. Some random japanese chick started talking to him on facebook. She says she just came across one of his posts, started looking at his profile and decided to say hi. She's probably average cute for a japanese girl. He's average looking. High school education lived with mom and dad, no job to speak of and she's probably in her early 30's i think. She's WAY out of his league in my opinion. Apparently she has a pretty good job over there. She flew all the way here, met his family in their little house in a moderately crappy part of st. pete and they ended up getting married

But he says that because of her job, she actually lives like an hour away from where he lives.

not too uncommon, but there are a few different possibilities here and none of em are good

1) she was a foreigner-hunter and fucked every white dude she saw until she hit her late 20s, became Christmas cake and desperately needed to settle down with somebody who didn't know her sordid history

2) she was in a long-term relationship or possibly married and divorced to a white dude and saw none where she lived, and being well past marriageable age she chose a white guy she saw online and said "fuck it"

3) shes actually fucking insane
