Occasional-Cortex - The Gift That Keeps on Giving

there are rules for living

break them rules and you get punished

we don't enforce those rules so this is what we get and imo deserve

now we get to build walls around our homes and endure the South African future treatment

I can't wait for whatever new DEATH TO THE BOERS song she sings for us inside Congress next

There's no mystery. She won an 85% democrat district by getting a mere 7% of them to vote for her in a primary. She exists because of 15,000 voters. Establishment democrats will replace her as soon as she becomes more trouble than she's worth.
our prime minister got 26k votes so could have been worse

i thought she was a comedian she since she was elected

look at all the funny ass shit she says

current fav is Green New Deal and living in the real world

we just hate her because she is beautiful......i think that is a legit quote tbh

also....to FOOL

On June 26, 2018, Ocasio-Cortez received 57.13% of the vote (15,897) to Joe Crowley's 42.5% (11,761), defeating the 10-term incumbent by almost 15 percentage points.[59]

Off the street bartender beats 10-term incumbent

Top 3rd DNC politician by many metrics

Democrats see major upset as socialist beats top-ranking US congressman | US news | The Guardian

them +4k primary votes were surely something imo

tell me a better story than the 100k she beat here GOP opposition by in the General Election

Ocasio-Cortez won the election with 78% of the vote (110,318) to Pappas's 14% (17,762)

rather impressive either way......

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez quotes WATCHMEN: - The Beat

she got jokes though

“‘None of you understand. I’m not locked up in here with YOU. You’re locked up in here with ME.”

Tom King on Twitter:

alan moore used to say the problem with americans is that they think rorschach is the hero of watchmen

iirc the character is an alex jones type street preacher by day who reveals ozymandias' plot to a daily mirror type tabloid so p funny to be quoted by aoc

i rly liked "Has the president ever provide inflated assets to an insurance company?"

lol

this presidents a joke

We'll just keep looking until we either A) find something, or B) Trump leaves office.

It's going to be amazing watching all of these things immediately stop when he's no longer President.

lol @ thinking establishment dems are going to sort cortez out of the running. even if she isn't here to stay (she is), then people like her will just keep coming

they courted her just like establishment repubs courted someone like trump. at some point all of the crazy talk used to get more votes was going to get "undesirables" in power

am I missing something bc I don't remember any establishment republicans hoping trump would win

they courted* him with what they were saying but not acting on. talking shit about obama, nafta, obamacare, the iran nuclear deal, etc for YEARS without really taking any effective action. disillusioned cuckservatives went with trump, because no one believed people like jeb or cruz would change the status quo.

likewise establishment dems have been running on identity politics for a while and really ramped it up since obama won office. but they really haven't done a lot to push the US more to the left. bernie and cortez are resonating more with the democratic base at this point than establishment dems

we went through this with trump. initially everyone said that the republicans and republican voting base would reject trump. he made almost the entire party subservient within a short period of time. he said factually incorrect stuff and made himself look like an ass frequently and consistently. none of that stopped him. posting memes of cortez saying stupid shit as if that is indicative of her future success is funny. that same shit didn't stop a wildcard with zero political experience from winning the presidency 3 years ago.

interesting to see the way you saw it go down, thx for sharing.

I don't necessarily agree w ur assessment on all points there but I can see where you're coming from and why you might think that way.
