[Bible and evolution] It's not a hard concept at all guys, really.

I have a simple theory to explain both this and "dark matter".

Dark matter, and this "hole" are areas of space that exert gravitic fields (in other words we can tell that something is "there"), but we can't see the the stars themselves.

Dyson Spheres would do this.

It is possible that an alien race, if one exists, would expand by creating Dyson Spheres around every star they could reach.

A Dyson Sphere, for anyone that doesn't know, is a massive, thin metallic sphere surrounding a star that captures 100% of its sunlight and converts it to useable energy. A single Dyson Sphere around our own sun would give humanity trillions of times more energy than we currently have.

Dyson Spheres would give an alien race 100% of the available energy in the universe they controlled and would give them the enough energy to expand throughout the universe at close to the speed, or possibly faster.

It would also make any distant areas of the universe appear *to us* as though they have vanished (they would emit no light yet still show measurable gravitic influence on everything else in the universe.)

Believing in alternate universes is effectively the same as saying "anything can and will happen". It might be true, but it isn't very scientific. It's no more likely than saying "God is a pair of tennis shoes and the universe is ruled by the colour purple, except on red days."

As far fetched as it sounds, an alien life form colonising the universe with Dyson Spheres is a simpler and more logical explanation for "missing" parts of our galaxy than entire alternate universes. After all, the purpose of all living things (on our planet at least) is simply to replicate and spread.

Theoretically we could do this now using solar tech without breaking *any* laws of physics. There's no reason a civilisation more advanced than us couldn't have been doing it for billions of years.

You're talking about reality. And you're right.

I'm talking about theory. And I'm right.

Are atheists peaceful and moral? Yes. Should they be? No.

A true atheist should have no worries about doing anything immoral for the simple fact that there is absolutely no reason not to.

Give me one reason that an Atheist shouldn't do ANYTHING they can get away with if Atheism is true.

The only real statement in atheism is "if there is no God, all is permissable." That is literal truth.

If there is no one more powerful than you, and no moral objectivity in the universe, there is simply no reason to be moral.

I'm also calling bullshit on the developers.

I seriously doubt there is anything "quantum" about this.

"We use 'Quantum Random Bit Generator' (QRBG121), which is a fast non-deterministic random bit (number) generator whose randomness relies on intrinsic randomness of the quantum physical process of photonic emission in semiconductors and subsequent detection by photoelectric effect. In this process photons are detected at random, one by one independently of each other. Timing information of detected photons is used to generate random binary digits - bits. The unique feature of this method is that it uses only one photon detector to produce both zeros and ones which results in a very small bias and high immunity to components variation and aging. Furthermore, detection of individual photons is made by a photomultiplier (PMT). Compared to solid state photon detectors the PMT's have drastically superior signal to noise performance and much lower probability of appearing of afterpulses which could be a source of unwanted correlations.
Read more at the product page: QRBG121 / Random number generator / random bit / Non-deterministic random number / Hardware generator / Quantum Cryptography."

Translation: We're unemployed mathematics majors. We're really smart. Like, seriously fucking smart. You won't believe just how fucking smart we are. We can't actually prove that anything is random, since quantum mechanics is poorly understood and totally unproven even by smart people like us.

But this shit... this shit is *random*, man. Fucking random as. You couldn't predict this shit even with a calculator, trust us, we've tried. Three times even. Of course we can't understand it, let alone explain it in human terms, because your just so... well your just not smart like us. Did we mention we're fucking smart?

Just trust us, okay? This shit is random. We can't prove or explain it... but dude.. this shit is fucking RANDOM."

I thought this was pretty interesting.

Experiment and interpretation

The Miller-Urey experiment attempts to recreate the chemical conditions of the primitive Earth in the laboratory, and synthesized some of the building blocks of life.
The experiment used water (H2O), methane (CH4), ammonia (NH3) and hydrogen (H2). The chemicals were all sealed inside a sterile array of glass tubes and flasks connected together in a loop, with one flask half-full of liquid water and another flask containing a pair of electrodes. The liquid water was heated to induce evaporation, sparks were fired between the electrodes to simulate lightning through the atmosphere and water vapor, and then the atmosphere was cooled again so that the water could condense and trickle back into the first flask in a continuous cycle.

At the end of one week of continuous operation Miller and Urey observed that as much as 10-15% of the carbon within the system was now in the form of organic compounds. Two percent of the carbon had formed amino acids, including 2-3 of the 22 that are used to make proteins in living cells, with glycine as the most abundant. Sugars, lipids, and some of the building blocks for nucleic acids were also formed. Nucleic acids (DNA, RNA) themselves were not formed. As observed in all consequent experiments, both left-handed (L) and right-handed (D) optical isomers were created in a racemic mixture.

Hint: so much moisture in the atmosphere would case the air pressure to be so high it would rupture human lungs.

This is a quality troll. Confidence and conviction in your "facts". Though you didn't provide any sources, you wrote in such a way that every angsty teen looking for meaning in this world (but who also hasn't the capacity to find it themselves) will take it to heart and spend at least the next week explaining this revelation to their friends.

A lot of people find it silly that humans in biblical times lived in the hundreds of years (up to 969 to be exact), and think that it is proof that the scripture cannot be taken literally. There are many theories that would help to explain this phenomena, and here is the leading one that is accepted by most people in the scientific community (obviously there is rarely a consensus when it comes to the scientific community, but it is very close - intelligent design anyone?).

Noah and the great flood is the very first mention of any rain in the Bible. This can be backed up with the fossil record that there was no rain to exist on the earth before that time. It is theorized (and there is both atmospheric and terrestrial data to support this) that the planet was encompassed by a large shell of water, much thicker than our current atmosphere. This condensation shielded the earth from the ultraviolet rays of the sun and created a climate that allowed humans to live for much longer years.

Once the first rain commenced, the climate became more humid, hotter, and species adapted to it. In an age where there is little random mutation or sun damage species can survive for hundreds if not thousands of years. This would explain how the early humans like Adam and Eve lived for so long.

Also, you can expect that over time mutations would accumulate and that our overall DNA structure is much weaker than it was back then when it was first crafted by God's hand.

These two facts in conjunction with a little common sense are useful to clear up the misconception that the Biblical record conflicts with the evolutionary record or otherwise.

Feel free to post if you have any questions.

I love it when people try to use science to back up their faith.
You guys sure do try your best to fit a square block in a round hole eh?

Science and religion can't go hand in hand (except Scientology, which we all know is certified true b/c Tom Cruise and John Travolta are apart of it). I'm sorry.

Could you cite sources that state that there was a sphere of water over the earth and that there was no rain?

Also the fact that he is the foremost atheist zealot on TribalWar.

How does he get you every time?
While you go on and on about how dumb 'you guys' [The religious/Christians] are, you get fooled by one of the most juvenile trolls on the forums multiple times.

Yea guys, there totally were oceans, lakes, rivers, snow capped mountains and all that shit before god flipped the switch on evaporation and precipitation.

I guess if you spilled a glass of water back in the day it just stayed there until the great flood.
