[Fuck] I think my video card is dying :(

Took the card out, blew air into the cooler as best I could (can't take it off because it requires some special screwdriver, zomg my right to repair!). Got 1 crash almost instantly, then played for about 2 hours fine, then another crash just now.

HWMonitor shows peak temp at 85 °C for the entire period, but it's been like that for a while.

Time to look for a replacement, woo...

just get something nvidia

amd cards are for people living in their cars outside their ex girlfriends

aka fedz
This guy is a retard.

The AMD Radeon VII is solid and cheaper than 1080 Ti.

Most of the time it comes down to money. How much are you willing to spend for -10% to 20% difference (yes, negative, not all titles are created equally).

Only retards will spend $1500 on a 2080 Ti.

same price here

GeForce GTX 1060 SuperClocked 3GB PCI-E w/ DVI, HDMI, Triple DP

about 150 US$ i might grab one, my 460 is quite old and photoshop no like it
Yeah but I have Samsung memory. Anyone that is familiar with gpus knows the ample difference in terms of OCing capabilites between Samsung, hynix etc.

Get em while their hot, dudes

Radeon VII isn't the next best thing. It's competition for the 1080 Ti which is currently tied for second with the 2080.

I don't know how poor or wealthy Amadeus is, but I've learned long ago to just buy a solid, more expensive card (not THE most expensive), because you'll love the performance and it will hold a lot of its value in a couple years when you want to sell it and upgrade.

A card from 1-2 generations ago will be more bang for the buck though, no?

Also, I'm running a quad core 3.8 GHz CPU and 8GB RAM. Would that not bottleneck a current gen powerhouse GPU?

Nah, my machine's just a bit old. And it could handle everything I threw at it so far, so I had no reason to upgrade.

ok then

buy one of fedrerereer's cards

it's like $300 to buy a decent card and maybe $1200 to build a decent computer

are u running xp still

Quad core doesn't mean anything.

I have a feeling your PC is a potato.

What is your budget?

all the ppl will call me a liar but a good 1060 plays everything in high settings. the only reason i have a 1080 in my machine was because it did terrible as a mining card.
