[NFL] 2018 Off-season & Draft

49ers have tons of money to blow but damn i wouldnt want to sign a 30 year old corner coming off a blown Achilles to that deal

Corners dont age well imho

they're still at it

Yep, and a total Pats move too. Shelton should flourish there.

HK and others, do you think it'd make sense to create a somewhat generic sports thread, ie [General Sports] 2018 or something to that effect?

was thinking of somewhere to discuss things like today's Tiger performance, next month's Masters, some tennis, etc but without individual threads that will only likely get a handful of posts

The plan is for Ndamukong Suh to be released as early as today as the Dolphins continue their attempt at a culture change – a plan that has purged arguably Miami’s three most talented players within last year. A lot riding on 2018..

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent WR Allen Robinson intends to sign with the Bears.

This is contingent barring any last-minute hiccups when free agency begins Wednesday. The Bears have been linked to numerous top free agent receivers and Robinson, who is still just 24 and expected to be fully healthy for the offseason, is arguably the cream of the crop. Robinson suffered a torn ACL in 2017 but is only two seasons removed from a "down" year in which he led the Jaguars across the board with a 73-883-6 line. He steps into immediate opportunity with the Bears, who have 225 targets and nearly 2,000 air yards available from last season's production.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent QB Case Keenum intends to sign with the Broncos.

Yahoo's Charles Robinson confirmed Schefter's report. The Broncos reportedly decided against committing to Kirk Cousins, who would undoubtedly command a mega-deal. Perhaps Denver also realized that Cousins wasn’t coming there. The Broncos have been linked to Keenum throughout the offseason since the 30-year-old was first signed by Denver senior personnel advisor Gary Kubiak as an UDFA when the two were together with the Texans. This shouldn’t preclude the Broncos from using the No. 5 overall pick on a quarterback.

Kirk Cousins plans to sign a three-year, fully-guaranteed contract from the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, sources tell ESPN.

**Early word is 3 years $84 million fully guaranteed

Titans agreed to terms with CB Malcolm Butler, formerly of the Patriots, on a five-year, $61 million contract.

The deal includes a whopping $30 million guaranteed. Connected to ex-Patriots in both Houston and Detroit, Butler instead ends up with ex-Pats Mike Vrabel and Jon Robinson in Tennessee. It's the second straight year Robinson has signed away a corner from his former employer. Logan Ryan arrived via a three-year, $30 million deal last March. Butler seemed in and out of favor with Bill Belichick following his Super Bowl 49 heroics but was an every-down player until his stunning Super Bowl 52 benching. Although perhaps not truly elite, Butler is a legitimate No. 1 corner. He's a strong get for the Titans.

Titans going to look good on Defense..

Brees signed with Saints...will stay until he breaks all of those records that are in reach.

Lol what are the packers doing old for old player trade i guess they saved some money but doesn't seem worth it

odd to see

thank the maker russ is still around

and many have pointed out the parallels between this and USC 2009 before things completely unraveled, i am electing to be a homer and ignore it

Can't compare plus nfl is east to tank and rebuild if you have good gms and coaching/schemes

Browns and bears of the nfl are just horribly managed

Damn wanted Butler for the Lions, but not for that kind of money.
I wonder if the Bears sign Robinson if Jordy Nelson had already been cut at that point.
