risk: anyone here play it?

My house mates and I created our own version called risk-opoly. The game takes an entire day (we are university students) and we use the house as the board. We split the house up into 20 odd zones and try and take over the house.

It's a mix between Risk (where battles are fought on the xbox) and monopoly (chance cards and buying stuff).
 
I used to play Risk II at work a lot. The problem is that it always came down to who attacked more (or teamed up with someone else and then attacked them), because the advantage goes to the attacker.
