it looks like sam harris has his own podcast you can listen to so i wouldn't say he's ignored or marginalized either.

so not sure vanster could offer anything unique. i mean having a "woman beating drunk" on the show doesn't offer anything super interesting. he usually sticks to men that beat men.

as for rogan having people that need the platform, we're not really looking at things fairly.
take a jordan peterson.
never heard of him before jre, been on a few times, took over the internet and wrote a book.
now is jordan some nobody with no ability to self-promote? no. but that doesn't mean rogan gave him a huge boost.
there are countless examples of people that aren't featured on MSM, some academics with fringe theories...
just because he has people on that have platforms, that doesn't mean they can promote themselves everywhere, and jre doesnt provide a huge boost.
as for examples that would fit skipper's definition, he's had a few comics on that were basically starving and homeless and put them on the biggest talkshow in the world.
and lastly, joe at least once per episode will say something to the effect "im the fear factor guy that commentates cage fighting and tells jokes, im not smart and say a lot of stupid shit."
to say joe acts as if he's smart is pure fantasy.

and to vanster's point, im sure there are legions of his mma fans that think he's brilliant. but joe doesnt think that.
he's a comic talkshow host. the guests are the content. and over 2-3 hours many guests have interesting things to say. the format is what brings the success.
even the miley epsiode i watched, last half really dragged...would i tune into the view to see mylie talk for 3 min? no. 2 hours? hmmmm

It doesn't look natural, like a studio should and the previous one did. It looks like a budget stage set.
It looks like a childs' playfort. The clausterphobic rounded walls, the weird sound absorbing (?) decorative tiles, the awkward orange lighting that gives the space a seedy dive bar vibe. You can see the seams in the paneling, like he screwed plywood together in his garage.
This feels like a step backward in the evolution of things. Not what a 100 million dollar production should look like.

I have and he panders to a base. Like all these guys they give you stuff you want to hear that makes sense to you. Kind of like NGFM gobbling as much Limbaugh goo as he can or retards that watch Maher who is another panderer.
Joe just appeals to a more fuck yeah kind of crowd. I like a lot of what he has on, I’m just not going to fool myself by not acknowledging he is pandering to me.

Or he's simply being himself and its resonating with 10-20 million people.
Not everyone panders. And he's certainly not a very political guy at all. He sits down to talk to interesting people, maybe that's all there is to it?
