From T1 through T:A the game has always been on a decline.

T1 soared with the eagles.
T2 flew with the pigeons.
T:V ran with the dodo's.
T:A, like a pterodactyl fossil, lawn darted it's way to the Earth's core.
 
depends on the class, really

capping or chasing, reach will make the difference between a cap and a return sometimes so its key imo

looter/surv are both good for classes you stay alive a long time with

quickdraw is good on anything

a bunch of my heavies i use potential energy on

really depends on what you're doing and how the game is playing out

cap - reach/ego

chase - rage/quickdraw

raider/LO - i like survivalist/quickdraw, but some ppl like safety third/quickdraw

hof - safety third/quickdraw, safety third/superheavy, rage/quickdraw



So far I have almost exclusively played team death match, I want to master all the classes first so i get used to them all, then move on to CTF and start configuring loadouts for different things. having a blast. all i have left to master is raider, technician and infiltrator.

my favorite so far is jug with fusion mortar deluxe and heavy twinfusor
 
Can you still play TV? I lost my discs years ago, i still play T1 and T2, thiugh not as much since i started playing T/A a couple months ago. I like be able to jump on full servers. T1 is kinda a joke now eith 4 or 5 people just fucking around unless its tourny mode, then its 30a mins of talk before match start, fuck that. T2 is still good, but only at night when there may be enough players to play effectively. So TA is only tribes worth playing for the most part.

Are you referring to the players disappointed in how HiRez ran things into the ground in record time or the players who are enjoying a shit game and being told they're playing a shit game.
 
I played T:A a bit today, I have been playing firefall a lot so it messed with my feel for the game. What I really noticed is that in firefall you don't have skiing or the top speeds that even T:A has, but the physics of T:A are so fucked that firefall seems faster, even in the heaviest class in firefall you don't feel like your a weighted down as much as a light in T:A.

The jet packs in firefall have less energy so you can't use them as long and you can't go very high but when you use them you move up at a respectable speed and the momentum causes you to drift upwards after the jets stop because of the speed.

Going between the 2 games it really makes me wonder how hirez decided on the physics they did, wondering if they decided that the armor is heavy so the jetpacks struggle to lift a character. Firefall is in very early beta and is probably going to be in beta for at least another 9 months, yet they already figured out a decent feel for jetpacks.

edit: did some testing, wasn't getting much drift in firefall at the top of the jetpack jump, still feels better than T:A though.
