Crysis Tribes mod: Rise

the mpb was fairly balanced i thought
it just changed the way you played certain maps. More HOs needed to cap, etc.
you really didnt need a missile for mpbs, just tons of precision mortars.

fuck the tank + rest. I like the shrike, but requiring a missile launcher = gay.
I always hated how all cappers had to carry flares.

are u talking about things from T2.

shut the fuck up plz

he was like 13 when t2 came out, theres no way he could have played the 1st :(

poor stoned out azn

and lol @ people still trying to tell him how to make a game, he doesn't give a shit what a bunch of whiny ass forum posters on TW want

T2C had a good balance of vehicles and armor's. MPB was a nice fit. Shrike's also had their place.

Tanks and Bombers we're seldom used, but had their niche. Transport was never really used in T2C.

Cappers didn't need to carry flares, they needed to manage their heat.

T2C rocked.

I dont want to manage my fucking heat. This isnt Top Gun, this is tribes.

 Altho i love T2C, i must admit that heat thing was kinda g@y. Its one thing for you to worry about ur heat from an automated turret. Its another thing to worry about it from handheld missile launchers.

Vehicles were completely unbalanced in T2. A T1 scout you could take out with a chaingun or a properly placed and quite spectacular MA. You didn't have to fight through shielded armor only to get blown away by a vehicles guns that were twice as powerful as your own.

The problem most of you geniuses have is you can't distinguish between realism and game balance. Of course in real life a tank should be hard to destroy, that's the whole point of a tank. In a game however it makes it pretty dumb to require 3 or 4 people to work together to take out one jackass in an overly powerful vehicle.

Do everyone a favor, leave vehicles completely out of your mod.

Wow thanks for all the kind words guys, we really appreciate your support, it's means a great deal to us :)
I've picked up on a few people having some troubles downloading the video, for which I apologise for. A few mirrors have popped up now so here's the links:

Hopefully you'll have no problems there.
Once again thanks.

Cheers.
REMEMBER! DONT LISTEN TO ANYONE IN THIS COMMUNITY!

This franchise was fucked by the 3 different directions Tribes took. The small community divided over every fucking feature.

Deathmatching/CTF with armor to armor combat is so fucking 10 years ago. But heh, I'm sure there's a whole 400 people that will LOVE a game like that.

I'm sure I would too... for like a week, then realize oh hey, I did this 10 years ago.

Vehicles can be done right. Deployables can be done right. Options and features can be done right. There's no reason to exclude things simply because they did not work in a previous game.

Epack, spinfusor, chain and nade, while running/chasing a flag gets old.

Like a said a few pages back, a mod built on nostalgia. Everyone will come in here and hump eachother over their favorite feature of their favorite Tribes game, in the end, it'll end up the same game we've all played.

You can have similar features, but if you make it the "same" it's gonna not only be boring for us as veteran Tribes players, it's going to be fucking bland for anyone new looking to try it out.

if they say anything other then T1 - dont listen.

You already seem to be on the right page with speed etc thus far - keep it up.

Wait what......................... You're basing it off T:V?

It's taking more of a biased influence from Tribes Vengeance in terms of play dynamics, however we're also bringing in elements from all three.

It's not what people would refer to as a total conversion either btw, we have some really neat stuff planned, such as the heavy armour actually being twice the physical size of the light. Whether this will play well that way though we've yet to experiment.

anyways, looks awesome

I bought crysis when it first got released, played the first 5 minutes, and I was done. FUCK THIS SHIT. runs like absolute ass.

But anyways I got my 9800gtx in the mail a few days ago and ive been having a blast

just wish you didn't need a top of the line video card to run it properly
