Meanwhile in Portland

fking portland

wat a bunch of fags

if the place didn't suck, the vid title would be "HOT LADIES STRIPPED IN NORTH PORTLAND"

By the book, the numbers have gone up. The incoming rate has curtailed a ton since around 2018. Not surprisingly as crime has gone up. But - the type of person is completely fucked up. We are losing our artists, our chefs, our older community of social influencers, musicians, cool business owners, our most passive/peaceful people; everything that made Portland cool. It's really sad to watch the city implode because of shitty leadership and behind the scenes agendas.

owners using the excuse to cut and run

if they weren't little bitches they'd reopen in a mostly abandoned strip mall and bring some life 2 the burbs

u sure these publicans aren't ausfailians? they're caving 2 the chinese cryptojews like as if they are.

i just fking hate phony hipsters

when sum1 says "hipster" u always think of the phonies who have infested brooklyn, detroit, etc.

real hipsters r respectable b/c they do that round one shit actually turning an unloved/unwanted crime infested neighborhood in2 a cool place thru actual hard work and ~vision~

real hipsters r leaving the yuppie "revived" downtowns and opening up shop @ a lame strip mall near u

interesting

too bad it's going away

thanks china/biden

More like thanks Ted Wheeler, Mike Schmidt, Kate Brown, Jo Ann Travesty and all the others who decided to fuck Portland business to sell it all off and develop it.

We had some really awesome people and places in town. No one can be happy in PDX right now from a business standpoint.

Kell's is just one example of a local, unique Portland business. The fatality numbers are high. Almost all of the old places are going. The main reason is the patrons are gone. A Kell's regular was very different from a Dante's regular. They were different than the regulars at all the other unique places in downtown PDX. All are going. RIP Portland. Hope you do well with your wishy washy bland smiling zero culture. Remember - you all voted it in, though and wouldn't listen to those of us who started the warning signals about 5-6 years ago. To use a common Portland phrase "It is what it is". No. You had a chance to do something different.

But, as long as Portland is run by a "commission" we are vulnerable to this.

Rent in Portland rose the MOST of any city in the USA.
Portland, listed as the No. 1 fastest-rising rent city, saw rents increase 39 percent over the last year. Austin, Texas, came in at No. 2, the other cities are on the eastern side of the country.

Seattle is reported as having an average rent asking price of $2,774, a 30.9 percent increase over the last year. Monthly mortgage prices are at $3,010, a 24.3 percent increase.
Average Seattle rent jumps 30.9 percent, but Portland had the worst increase in the US | KOMO

Yeah - you get so much for that rent increase. So much more crime, theft, vandalism. Not to mention that most places just shut down their service desks during COVID and didn't do any repairs etc. Amazing.

Following a fatal shooting Sunday afternoon at Third Avenue and Pine Street, the bakery sent a series of tweets detailing problems with crime in the area.

"It's normal to see that almost every single day," said Piroshky Piroshky owner Olga Sagan.

"Today's shooting was at 1 p.m. in the middle of Sunday, in the middle of downtown. There's tourists and families, and it's just becoming normalized. And it absolutely makes me very, very angry," Sagan said.

Margulis Jewelers will close after 90 years as a downtown Portland fixture.

Owner David Margulis announced the closure in a letter to customers March 3, citing a “perfect storm” that has hurt businesses like his, which occupies a prominent spot across the street from Pioneer Courthouse Square.

“This was an agonizing decision—it was never our plan to close our doors,” Margulis wrote. “But Portland has experienced the perfect storm of adversity and independent businesses simply cannot withstand the economic forces which have caused the deterioration and resulting emptiness of Downtown Portland.”

Wait. So - letting drug addicts and criminals take over your downtown so that people stop going there is bad for business? Say it ain't so?

Well, I am sure there are some opportunity zone dollars waiting to knock your block down and build some larger, multi-use, combo, low-income housing thing to pack the electoral center with more voters. Thanks for the gumball, David Margulis. I hope you used your votes wisely over the years. You had the cross-hairs placed over you in about 2017.
