Well their ability to lead us through corona situation hasn't been brilliant. But they're listening to experts, so they haven't fucked up too badly. Before that there was some immigration cucking..

I'd give em 4/10, they could be worse but they're not helping.

I am very disappointed that there is not much National pride in Finland. At least a photo or two of the disappearing hot white chicks we hear so much about...

United Nations' latest World Happiness Report.
Finland is followed by Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland and Norway.
oh ya, I trust the [strike]EU[/strike]UN... Aren't all these places cold?
oh wait, propaganda incoming; you're all super happy because of your great health care...

I can tell you this; here in the US I have always had great healthcare because I've always had a hard working family.

I've never considered healthcare as a foundation for my happiness, but maybe if I lived in these cold places and the government pounded it into my head that great healthcare is the reason i'm happy...
And of course that it's FRRReeeeee

Well CNN span it to focus on healthcare...
the happiness meter has alot of other factors, like level of education, GDP, work opportunities, how it is to raise children etc.
If I remember correctly we're not #1 in healthcare (danish are better) but overall Finland is #1.

Same to you.
we got 450 confirmed cases and no deaths (yet).

I guess it's gonna be a ride, will have to wait and see how we'll end up.

Do Finns have a 1st (freedom of speech) and 2nd (freedom to bear arms) in your constitution? Is it robust like ours or weak like Britons'.

Yes well our constitution has freedom of speech.
Freedom of expression = freedom of speech.

right to bear arms is not as it is your constitution. We have the right to bear arms but it is supervised (as in you need a qualification to be allowed posses fire arms). In addition, all firearms need to be registered (they're not in many cases).

I'd say our constitution is decent, however very outdated in cyber era. Not as outdates as yours though. It's good in terms of keeping the jurisdiction under relative control (currently we're prosecuting crooked cops that were head of departments etc.) However, our politicians don't really seem to understand the constitution and many of their intended laws get stuck from proceeding because of the constitution. (like our healthcare reform).

I do feel like the main strength of our country comes from civil obedience and very homogenous population. We look after each other and most of the population follow the instructions very well. for example if there's no-one to penalise you for not paying your train ticket, over 90% will still pay the ticket. Also not much corruption (or it's well hidden :D). Personal anecdote, I lost my wallet into a night club, I went there the next evening and the staff gave it to me. I had over 200 dollars in there and none was stolen, and the staff hadn't found it but another customer from the toilet....

And about guns, we might have one shoot out in the whole country during any one year. More than one is very rare (might become more common, we had a duo of swedish gangster shooting cops last year... the organised crime is much bigger in Sweden than it is in here). Last time a cop shot a criminal was in the 90s and it was a big sensation... (as far as I am aware).
