What is your current wireless router?

Would 'aftermarket' antennas make that much difference?

It will if youve got some large obsticles to get around, like the 1970s era solid oak entertainment system Ive yet to throw out which holds my router, big bunny ears poke out the back and over top for clearance.

Ppl say soho wifi works well even without any antennas plugged in with optimum conditions.

Not really any big obstacles. but the router is pretty much on one side of the house. I have extenders throughout the rest of the house though

You might not even need the extra antennas as the ones it comes with are pretty good to start with. As I said in a previous post, its not unheard of for ppl to get a wifi signal in a smaller place without even putting the antennas that come with it on.

My NETGEAR WNDR4500 has been rock solid for many years.

I had a DLINK before that kept disconnecting and crashing. I hated that thing, never any DLINK router again.

NETGEAR is synonym of stability, this thing rocks.
