So as you all know, I got this knife.

I have a sharpening stone and I don't know thing one about sharpening.

I just watched a random video on Youtube and it says you have to dip the stone in water before sharpening. Is this true? What will happen if I don't wet it?

dip it in water.

you will learn the rest by trial and error.

keep a sheet of paper around and test your progress.

its called a whet stone for a reason you fucking virgin

while it may not actually MEAN 'wet' (whet is 'to sharpen') its a pretty good indication, nay?

put the stone down.

if you've never tried to sharpen before, you'll probably do it wrong and fuck up your edge.

So, here's what you do. Buy the spyderco sharpmaker. read the instructions, and you'll be able to sharpen at both a 35 and 45 degree angle.

If you're too lazy for that, sell your crap gerber knife and buy a benchmade so when it loses its edge you can send it to benchmade for sharpening.
