i bet it would sell more copies if they went back
 
Back in high school, I used to work at our local library

and they had this kids book about football called "Kick, Pass and Run"

but we would always cover the P up with something like a coin so it would say "Kick Ass and Run"
 
Those are nothing. Find the Microfilm newpaper archives of your local paper at your library (local or college) and browse the Editorial section from the 60s and 70s. For example, patron wrote in to my branch the other day asking about owner information for a local paper from 1967. While looking through the microfilm archive, I came across this editorial. I'll cut off the latter half of it cuz it doesn't matter and just rambles, but here you go:

I should have known...
I kept gettign this awful craving for rice.
Then my eyes began to slant like Anna May Wong's.
Luckily, we have a Chinese herb doctor down the street. I called him on the phone and described my symptoms.
"Ah so," he said, "get to bed... you got the Hong Kong Fru." I really expected he'd send over some herbs to brew, but evidently he's of a newer school.
