Fuck weed. All drugs should me made legal again.

I'm all for it as long as it allows Doctors/Hospitals/Clinics etc.. to turn away patients who are ill because of drug use.

Individual liberty.
Less crime (decrease prison overcrowding).
Less money for organized crime and drug gangs.
Mad money for the government through taxed drugs.
Drugs are less appealing (the "we want what we can't have" syndrome).
Money wasted fighting war on drugs can go to drug rehab/treatment and education programs.

topics like "Fuck weed. All drugs should me made legal again. " really don't support your cause very well...

The government spends less money placing harmless drug users in jail.

The government spends less time arresting and prosecuting harmless drug users, and would be able to spend it's time going after real criminals.

Crime would go down. Legalization of drugs would remove drug cartels. Also, a reason why drug prices are so high (Which is why some crack heads steal cars, TV's etc) is because

1. Most drugs are not produced localy.
2. It's high risk to grow and transport drugs.
3. Drug Cartels, because it's an underground market, are not subject to government regulation such as anti trust laws.

Those are just a few reasons.

All those reasons sound well and good, but I would oppose the legalization of ALL drugs just based on the fact that there will be even MORE shitfaced drivers sharing the same roads that I am. Granted, a lot of people already do drive high, but i'm sure with it being legal, there will be a big increase.

Legalizing marijuana (or any drug) doesn't mean legalizing driving while using that drug. Protection laws like those used with alcohol would be necessary. Money gained from taxation and money saved from anti-drug programs could be put to use in the police force to make these new laws effective.

I think most people can agree that the casual user is not the problem

If drugs were cheaper, would addicts use less? Would they mug fewer people, or panhandle less on the corner if they could score cheaper crack?

The problem with legalizing the drugs, the only thing you can do to hurt the cartels and take crime out of it, is to bring prices down by increasing the supply. If the price comes down low enough, it stops being as profitable to smuggle it in and risk imprisonment.

But in that case, more drugs will be available at a cheaper price to people who already spend as much of their money possible on drugs. I hardly doubt their spending habits will change much in the instance prices come down.

Legalizing drugs wouldn't decrease crime or addiction rates at all.
