I just got my first one a couple days ago.

I was using a stabber before. 3 lasers at 165 m3 per minute is 486 m3 of ore per minute.

With a retriever, it's 2 strip miners that do 882.9 m3 every 3 minutes. The net is 588 m3 per minute.

woot for an extra 6000 m3 per hour!

Cool stuff man. :) Once I left empire I dropped my mining skills ;). Might get refinery to 5 just for the isk in loot, other then that.. I got my ferox / soon to be raven.
 
I bought a dominix just so i can run 6 Miner IIs

Just kidding, the thought of mining again makes me :ugh: but I know I'll probably have to do it again at some point

until then, I'm a poor PvPer

Not sure why, in Fey and in impass, I make 80m a night with 8 miner 2's on my apoc compared to the 15 or so I was making in empire. Mine Bistot and get good refining skills.

the only problem is hauling that shit to empire can be a bitch, but if you really are in ASCN now then you know how to get it up there pretty safe.

I and my buddy mine about 2 nights a week, and its MORE then enough to fund us having a few assualt frigs, HAC's, inties and frigates + fittings a week if we were to go through that many ships. I wouldnt give up on it totally =)

EDIT: Although, depending on where you rat we also make damn good money ratting and refining too as long as we get a few nice named drops like domi's

yea, we paid haulers to do it at first, on every 100m we mined we paid a ind5 pilot 10m to haul it all for us.

then we said fuck that, why outsource the job, and we got second accounts. I have 4 now =-( im such an eve loser.
 
Ya good job. I got mine like 2 weeks ago. With the right skills i can fit a mining upgrade on it :) 984m3 per cycle. My accounts currently de-activated and i'm having Mining being learned to lvl 5 so i can get a additional 5% yeild. In 3-4 days i'll repay my account and just buy my adv. learning skills.

Once each is to level 3 i'm going to get Mining Barge V going. Covetors rule. Then its on to Exhumers. HULK!!!

usually 0.0 is hard to find "work" in because most people are protective of their space. We paid a corp mate, not because he asked, but because we felt it was worth our 10m, and wanted it to be very worth his time.

Best bet might be to ask someone with a little less restrictive space, I have only been in 0.0 with my old and new alliances (ASCN, AXE) and they fire on anyone who is in their space and not +5 or better so I am not sure how others handle their space.

You can make loads of money though if you have good startup capital. You find something in a region that sells for 2-3x that amount in another region, buy it all up and move it with your indy and resell at a higher price.

That or talk with FREE guys, they roam in more 0.0 space as I am usually stuck in my little nook so they might know how it works in other area's better.
 
Our area works on a "Not Blue shoot It" policy as well, as do most areas.

Big Blue, AFAIK, is the only alliance that has an open space policy.

Pure Blind is also pretty much open space but there are a few corps that will shoot neutrals there. Really the best way to gain access to 0.0 space is to join a corp with access to 0.0 space. Or ninja mine in someone else's space.
 
Mining is by far the easiest most consistent way of making cash (0.0 mining anyways), however I suggest making a pvp alt account asap cuz it gets old FAST. As a newbie, making isk is pretty tough, but soon you'll have more than enough and need ways to spend it...

I have at least 7.5, and I just started flying Battleships this past week... I've been playing since August 2005... :(

The good news is, now I can solo mine a tanked belt. And when I have a full can, I can make one trip in my occator, and take it all back to the station. :D

I fill a can in about 1.5hours, which works out to about 16mil isk... ;)
 
If you think you are cutting ore now, you should get a friend (or a 2nd account) with mining foreman skill @ the mining bonus mod. holeeeeee shiiiiiiiiit that alot of crok :brows:

Yea...I'm working on that.

I've been playing, off and on, since beta began...I've quit 3 times now and I'm back for more.

mine merco, with good skills and skiff + MDCSM 2, its 80+mil per hour if you got a good hauler.
The most profitable way to make money is either t2 productions or empire/0.0 supply runs. But these require large capital. I make about 500mil a run from 0.0-empire and 500mil back
but i only do these maybe once every 2 weeks cuz its dam risky
