Merc idea. Thoughts?

I have always liked the idea of being mercs and pirates in this game.

I want to give a example of a scam I thought of.

Once we level up and nearly everyone is in a BC, BS, etc we can start looking for fleet engagements. If we hear of one and find out where its located the fun begins.

Plan is, locate engagement site. Scout out who is fighting whom, find the engagement zone and find a way to place ourselves 200-250km outside that zone and perpendicular to front. Once in system, we announce our intentions.

First alliance to offer us $$$$(enter resonable amount here) gets our services for the fight. Neither side wants to pay us? We start sniping and picking off ships from both sides until someone agrees to dump a few billion into our accounts.

What say you? :D
 
Well, if two fleets are squaring off in a large struggle. Like 50 or so ships each side and then we jump in with 20 or so ships. We could be a huge deciding factor in the battle. Of course, this is after we have all cruisers, HACs and battlships.

Either side would be dumb not to pay us off to join the battle on their side. If they don't we start even picking them off to keep things even. When both sides get low we finish them both off. Next time they pay.

Picture this. We have two reps for our group. One rep contacts each side. We tell them our intentions and then let the bidding war commence. When one side refuses to outbid the other, we destroy them and collect our award.
 
Course there's the chance they'll both look at each other, look at us, say screw it, and start attacking us as a combined force.

Seems like a good idea to me. If I wanted to play it safe I'd go back to EQ2.

When they ask wtf just happened, explain that we needed to clear a route for a mining op.

All we need is to get a 50 person fleet again =/
