Anyone care to share a brief summary (other than, "you suck") about the current Eve big boys and who is who? I've been reading some of these BoB threads but, since I'm new to the game, none of it makes much sense to me.

And yay, I'll be getting a regular account tomorrow, I need me a good sci-fi mmo.

i'll elaborate a little more :ofn2: psa- my opinion of course blah blah blah

BoB - elitism on an epic scale. don't listen to them on the forums; they already believe they own the world. while they have some damn good pvp'ers, on the macro level, they play dirty and have a huge wallet. that's basically their gameplan. did i mention elitism?

ASCN - now dead, in actuality they were carebears first and pvper's second. first titan ever made/flown/lost came out of them and they had shit tons of outposts. readily helped BoB, then was shot at BoB, then helped them again... and eventually falling to BoB (refer to dirty play)

D2 - a direct result of of BoB/ASCN blob of faggotry event that was a disgrace to pvp. event involved abusing game mechanics to prevent an alliance known as G, a mainly german group which was the main threat to BoB, from directly fighting them. This upset G, and D2 is basically that alliance restructured. however, they haven't proven themselves to be G pvp wise.

LV - oh my god ":mecry:" they've been in perpetual newspaper second-page war. with who? who cares, that's not the main eve story. they also can claim to have lost the most capital ships in one battle ever, a staggering 15 (+1?) i don't have much respect for them :shrug:

BE/Goons/RA - a lumping of very different folk:

BE - extremely small, but also extremely effective bunch. if BoB plays dirty on a macro level, these guys play dirty on the micro level; if these guys are using a tactic, you'll see people whining about it on eve-o.

Goons - Something Awful corporation. they went from interesting novelty, to hated for silly reasons (BoB involved), to kind of neutral denouement now. suicide zerg describes their fleets.

RA - Russians, apparently richer than god. Been in perpetual war but again, second page news. since they are russian, i can never understand what they are saying, and thus i don't know much about them

IRON - Smaller group that us TW'ers play side by side with. They were buddy buddy with G, serving as the "Other Language" corps to G's nearly exclusive german speaking corps. Most douchebags (mainly because of BoB's propaganda) will tell you "omg iron is g's bitches and cry for help" bullshit, but they didn't understand that IRON/G worked in a symbiotic relationship crossing the boundaries of language. Like G, IRON took a dump following the ASCN/BoB douchebaggery, took on a different look while retaining their core.

That's pretty much teh state of affairs.

BoB covers most of the south now, if anything, the southwest has been there bastion for over 1.5 years now. They have alot of 'slave' corps that occupy their areas and may even control the stations in those areas, but they're NAP'd with bob and are mostly carebears corps. Excellent example it FIX.

LV Was ascn's butt buddy for longer than I remember. They're mostly carebears and have been in perpetual war with RA (red alliance). They occupy south east.

RA - Russion alliance - Been in constnat war forever, esp. against LV and Ascn and their buddies. Occupies the eastern regions. They appaerntly have been amassing this cash through ALOT of nefarious activities (read: cheating). I can only assume their good at attacking shit. But given the current state of russia, and how bad socialist theories have turned out in teh 20th century, I can only assume their massive Dbags and have no talent.

G (now D2) IRON - They've historically occupied Fade and Deklien respectively (north, northwest). They still occupy it, but have moved on. IRON now controls only a third of dek, with FLA (probably gonna lose it) and D2 controlling the other thirds. Doesnt matter for them, because they're normally off seiging other regions. They're hardcore pvp'ers and generly well organized.

D2/G - Have deffinantly grown. They dissolved after their failed attempt to make a massive fortress system of EC-P failed to the above mentioned game mechanics exploitation (over 600 people in system, over 40 dreads deployed to destroy 20+ 'deathstar' POS guarding the sovriegnity of the station..godly). They've came back stronger as D2, have amazzed 3 more regions, several allies in the North, but have yet to be proven in a portracted war. I've no doubt they'll do fine, but still.

Goon - Big random neutral. THey hate everyone, everyone hates them. Taking up residence in the western ghetto regions from what Ive heard. May play a part in something, or just fracture like they have in the past.
